OVERCOMING YOUR WORST ENEMY – RESISTANCE

I’m reading the book “The War of Art.” for the second time. If you have not yet read it, I highly recommend this book. I love the Rule of thumb that says, ” The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more Resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.” Can you relate to that? Oh, man! Since starting my blog, I said to myself that I was going to write in the blog at least once per week, and guess how often I am writing in the blog? Once or twice each month. The resistance has held me back. I love routine! I love to be productive. I have work, I have a course to study for, I have my workout, I have the bible to read, I’ve got to pray, I have books to read, and at the end the day, oops! I didn’t write in my blog, again. I can tell you that I do very well in my daile routine, but the Blog, oh well. Resistance or enemy, you name it! It tries to keep us busy, distract us to stay away from our call. Another Rule of thumb that I loved in the book is “The more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.” I can’t tell you how many times I decided to start my blog, and then I just let it alone for the so called “right time” or for the time that I could feel “ready.” Or when I went to my first interview at the gym as a personal trainer with zero confidence in speaking English. I thought many times to just wait, God knows why, but the waiting was my comfort zone. Can I be more honest? I didn’t sleep well that night, and my belly hurt until the interview finished. Do what you have to do, even when you are scared, even when you don’t want to do it or if you just feel to tired. These actions are the answer for achieving your dreams. Listening to that voice inside of you, for it can change everything. We have been living in a world so distracted that we can’t even listen to our soul. Get out of the resistance, be sensible for the details. God is giving signs, we just have to be willing to hear them. This week I met a beautiful soul, and got so many answers from her. She was willing to be a vase. She said “He IS working in you. We just have to be silent sometimes to really hear Him, you know.” Heck YES! I do know that! These words went through my soul, I needed to hear that. Sometimes we need someone to remind us. As I said, sometimes we let the noises keep us busy, but just as I needed these words, I hope that in someplace somebody else can be touched and just decide that we have a call for our soul evolution, and I hope that after you read this, that you can put the resistance in the back seat and go forward with what God says that you are meant to be or to do! God has plans for every single one of us, like the Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I Know The Plans I Have For You‘ Declares the Lord, ‘Plans to Prosper You and Not to Harm You, Plans to Give You Hope and a Future. ‘” https://anchor.fm/shegotwings/episodes/OVERCOMING-YOUR-WORST-ENEMY—RESISTANCE-egvh77

This made me think of Romans 7:18-19, “For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.”

I hear you. I try to write at least one post a day, but my schedule isn’t nearly as busy as yours. The hardest part is to discipline yourself to carve out the time to do it. It can be right before you go to bed at night, or like me, when you first get up in the morning. Thinking of it as journal writing might be helpful too. Don’t put unnecessary stress on yourself to do it, because you won’t be doing your best writing. It should be a labor of love. I enjoy reading your blog. Keep plugging away.
