Dear 7 year old me…

Don’t be so scared. Even if it looks impossible right now, you can trust in people. You are beloved. I wish I could give you a big hug and let you know how strong and brave you’ll be. But I have to be honest! It will be a long journey. You will learn that pain teaches, and what does not kill makes you strong. Do you know what is funny? Things do not change so much. Even old in numbers, you will feel afraid many many times, but you will do it anyways. Like right now, even with so many traumas going on, you find reasons to go out and play with your friends. Even when everything is a mess, you have a smile and you believe that things can change for the better. I wish that you wouldn’t waste so much time in your life being insecure and lost about who you are. But you know what? This crazy mess will build who you are supposed to be. So, be a strong little girl, that will become a big storm, and believe me, You will survive and tell this story proud of yourself. The storms will build the most important relationship in your life. You will discover your true identity in Christ, and you will never be the same. You will learn that you never will be alone and the girl that hides yourself behind your mother’s leg. Cause your faith will be unshakable, and you will be unstoppable.

A Beautiful Letter From my Daughter

Her head is up, in the clouds. The sky is not her limit. She wants to go beyond. She wants to reach infinite. The way there may be rough, and the path very difficult, but she doesn’t look down, and if she does, there’s no fear. Her father is within her and she knows…She Got Wings! – Maria Eduarda❤️

I Believe in You, so do You!

Fitness is my passion, and to be consistent in this area is not hard for me, since I love it! And it makes sense, I’m a Personal Trainer. But, I want to talk about how fitness and life are related. First of all, as with any goal, we have to take action. Just wishing for something wont make us achieve it! Let me tell you how I learned to enjoy reading. I pretended that I was enjoying it. Years ago, I used to go to the beach and do whatever, but reading wasn’t one of my choices. But then I met my husband, and he is a book lover. In the summer, of 2017 we went to the pool often. At the time I didn’t speak English at all, so what did I do? I pretended that I was reading a book, in English. Since I had to learn the language, and I had the desire to love to read. I had to pretend for a while. First, I pretended that I was understanding, and second that I was enjoying that time. So, I kept pretending until I really did enjoy it! And now, today I do love reading! Not just books, but audiobooks, and I’m also a podcast addict. I love to write, and I have a blog. Was it easy? Not at all. But instead of just wishing for it, I took action and made it happen. In my beginning journey, when I was living in a basement by myself, and in a bedroom with different families, feeling afraid in a different country, and not speaking the language, working hard just to survive, all of this had been teaching me that if I did not do for myself, no one was going to do it for me. The same goes for the fitness journey. Northing that is worthy comes easy. You have to pretend that you like it until your mind believes. Start with small changes. You don’t have to start extreme. You don’t have to go do crazy exercises or do extreme diets. Remember, that these changes are for the rest of your life, so you have to make changes achievable in the long term. Let’s go back to my book story. I didn’t try to read ten books in one day. I pretended that I was reading the same book for months. That’s how it works. It takes time. Be patient. Enjoy the process. Be proud of yourself for trying hard to grow. I don’t know about you, but I love to read the bible, pray, worship, read books, listen to a podcast, go for a walk, and have a conversation with God, It helps me to keep going. I do that every day. Every week. Every month. Every year. Consistency is the key! And remember, every single one of us struggles in some area of life, and we are not meant to do that alone. That’s why I share my journeys and my struggles. We have each other, to encourage and motivate so that we are capable to achieve and do hard things. The key is never to give up. I’m going to finish up with my favorite verse in the bible, ” Have I not commanded you? Be Strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. For the Lord, your God will be with you wherever you go! ” So, be strong and courageous. Go for your goals and dreams and make it a beautiful journey. Have faith, believe in yourself, and enjoy the process. I believe in you, so should you! https://anchor.fm/shegotwings/episodes/I-Believe-in-You–so-do-You-ekohqa

Be Brave. Be Bold.

Can I ask you a question? What are you struggling with right now? What’s that obstacle holding you back? How bad do you want to reach your goal? Are you willing to go for it? When I say willing, I mean to put in the hard work. Not just saying you desire it, but are willing to go all in! I lived for years and years limited in my mind. I was taking care of my body, my muscles, eating healthy, but the inside of me was unhealthy. My soul was dying. I used to spend my time in front of the tv, or scrolling my cell phone. I wasted so much time in my life. But, like the quote says, ” When you know better, you do better!”. Today I know who is by my side, I’m brave, I’m bold. If someone said to me at the begining of 2015 my next 4 years would be a life where I was happily married, living in the United States, speaking English and passing the NASM personal trainer certification I wouldn’t have believe it. First of all, 4 years ago I didn’t speak English at all, and second, I wasn’t a believer. I didn’t have a relationship with God at that time. Today if someone says to me that in 4 years or even less I’ll be on big stages speaking or that my book will be a NY best seller I’ll now believe! Cause He made me bold. He made me a new person. Cause today I know that He is in me, and with Him, we can do the impossible! So, I want to encourage you to take action today! Not tomorrow or next week. I mean, TODAY! Take the action to have faith, to believe in yourself, to do exercise, to choose better food to fuel your body, to choose better books to feed your soul, to love, and take care of yourself. You are worth it! You are the son and daughter of God, so we have to act like who we are! He loves and chooses us to rise up in Christ. https://anchor.fm/shegotwings/episodes/Be-Brave–Be-Bold-eiumi7

Be In Constant Movement for YOU!

What did you do for you today?

It can be a little action that can make your day better. You are worth it! And taking care of yourself is not a heavy thing that you should feel that you have to do, but a pleasure. That’s for you! You deserve it! Drink more water, go for a walk, eat fruits and vegetables, read a good book, enjoy your company, learn something new, wake up with plans, and repeat it again, and again. Choose a little step per day, per week…but choose to move! Be willing to make better choices FOR YOU! It sounds cliche but life is short! Decide to wake up with dreams, and trust that you can achieve it. Then chase them, and never ever give up! https://linktr.ee/InConstantMovement

Lessons from Sunflowers: Always Turn Toward the Light

Months ago, we planted the seeds and started the process. We have been watering the plants every single day. Every single day when I open the door, my eyes go to the sunflowers. I was looking forward to seeing the first leaves. After a couple of weeks, the leaves were there. They grew up! The next step was the flowers. I was very excited for that day. But one night the deer ate the plants, and when I opened the door the next day, I got an unexpected surprise. The plants were missing some of their leaves and were bruised. I got so annoyed with the deer, even though I think they are cute. So, we had to figure out a solution. We bought a spray that helps prevent the deer from eating them. So we had to start the process again. This time not just watering, but spraying as well. That’s life! We have to plant the seeds and understand that it is not going to grow overnight. We have to be commited, just as in life. Plant the seeds, and work on them in order to grow every single day. And just like what happened with the plant, we can feel pain many ways during the process. But the key is to never give up! The key is to turn to the light and restart the process. But this time it is going to be different, cause we learned the lesson, we got wisdom. And when we do not expect it, the plant will sprout. Turn toward the light, be committed, be patient, trust the process, and believe me…the results will blow your mind!

Faith is Like a Muscle, the More You Use It, The More Powerful It Becomes.

As a Personal Trainer, I try to compare the workout routines with my spiritual life. I like to see how each, a person building a healthy lifestyle and building faith resemble each other. The first step is the desire. There’s the desire, but still, one does not feel capable of achieving it. I remember when my mother decided to buy a car several years ago. She said “this one is the right one! God showed me.” I knew of faith in others at the time, but it was not yet part of my life. Faith doesn’t grow by itself. Like a muscle, you need to put in the work! It requires dedication, persistence, and patience. Simply having desire won’t achieve it. You have to go all in. Just as a muscle needs activation, the right food, rest, and daily dedication, faith is no different. To be 100% healthy is much deeper than what you eat and how you exercise. Pay attention to what you feed your soul, how you spend your time, what you listen to, who you surround yourself with. Life is short, so make that life intense. To be healthy from the inside out is powerful. Those on the outside cannot understand this, but they still can sense that there is something powerful happening! https://anchor.fm/shegotwings/episodes/Faith-is-Like-a-Muscle–the-More-You-Use-It–The-More-Powerful-It-Becomes-eib9jf

There’s a whisper answering your prayers, just pay attention in the details.

Until 2015, I was living hopelessly. I had toxic friendships and relationships. I was drinking to escape reality. I tried to find “happiness” and fulfill the emptiness in my soul with trips and parties. I realized that I wasn’t living, I was only surviving. I had never thought about God or even read the Bible. I was too busy with my crazy life to think about that. But in His grace, I met His unconditional love, and I was born again! That’s why, no matter what, I’ll keep spreading the word about His power. I know where I came from. I know how sad it is to have a smile on the face, but darkness in the soul. I’ve been humiliated, criticized, hopeless, sexually abused, verbally abused, I didn’t believe in myself, I was living as a victim. But everything changed when I heard God saying what He thinks about you and me! We are beloved, chosen, the daughter of God, and He called us by our name. We all have a call, we have a mission, we have each other to support and keep strong. We will go forward on faith, cause we know that with God all things are possible! I’m so grateful that God has put beautiful souls in my journey who speaks to my soul. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your support.🌻

And for all of you that are reading this post, that feel afraid, discouraged to have big dreams, to believe in yourself.I want you to know that you are not alone, there’s a whisper answering your prayers, just pay attention in the details. 🕊

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

OVERCOMING YOUR WORST ENEMY – RESISTANCE

I’m reading the book “The War of Art.” for the second time. If you have not yet read it, I highly recommend this book. I love the Rule of thumb that says, ” The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more Resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.” Can you relate to that? Oh, man! Since starting my blog, I said to myself that I was going to write in the blog at least once per week, and guess how often I am writing in the blog? Once or twice each month. The resistance has held me back. I love routine! I love to be productive. I have work, I have a course to study for, I have my workout, I have the bible to read, I’ve got to pray, I have books to read, and at the end the day, oops! I didn’t write in my blog, again. I can tell you that I do very well in my daile routine, but the Blog, oh well. Resistance or enemy, you name it! It tries to keep us busy, distract us to stay away from our call. Another Rule of thumb that I loved in the book is “The more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.” I can’t tell you how many times I decided to start my blog, and then I just let it alone for the so called “right time” or for the time that I could feel “ready.” Or when I went to my first interview at the gym as a personal trainer with zero confidence in speaking English. I thought many times to just wait, God knows why, but the waiting was my comfort zone. Can I be more honest? I didn’t sleep well that night, and my belly hurt until the interview finished. Do what you have to do, even when you are scared, even when you don’t want to do it or if you just feel to tired. These actions are the answer for achieving your dreams. Listening to that voice inside of you, for it can change everything. We have been living in a world so distracted that we can’t even listen to our soul. Get out of the resistance, be sensible for the details. God is giving signs, we just have to be willing to hear them. This week I met a beautiful soul, and got so many answers from her. She was willing to be a vase. She said “He IS working in you. We just have to be silent sometimes to really hear Him, you know.” Heck YES! I do know that! These words went through my soul, I needed to hear that. Sometimes we need someone to remind us. As I said, sometimes we let the noises keep us busy, but just as I needed these words, I hope that in someplace somebody else can be touched and just decide that we have a call for our soul evolution, and I hope that after you read this, that you can put the resistance in the back seat and go forward with what God says that you are meant to be or to do! God has plans for every single one of us, like the Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I Know The Plans I Have For You‘ Declares the Lord, ‘Plans to Prosper You and Not to Harm You, Plans to Give You Hope and a Future. ‘” https://anchor.fm/shegotwings/episodes/OVERCOMING-YOUR-WORST-ENEMY—RESISTANCE-egvh77

A Lesson From the Window

During the last few weeks we have been watching the mom bird feed the babies in her nest by the window. It was interesting to see her do this beautifull work every single day. So, finally, the big day came! The little birds had to get out of their nest and face the world. I’m so blessed and glad to have had the opportunity to watch this big moment since I had been watching the mom do her work from the very beginning. There were five babies. They had a hard time figuring out how to take flight. Four of the babies did figure it out quickly and flew beautifully, but we had one left. He took a while, he was scared, and he fell many times. My husband and I were by the window, looking forward to seeing him take his first flight. We were cheering for him and trying to encourage him even in the times that he felt scared and shaking. Many times we too can feel afraid and alone, but God is there, even when we can’t see! He’s there, cheers us, encourages us and looks forward to us taking our the next steps. The little bird fell many times, he took a long while, but in the end, he did a magnific job of flying. He had to get out of the cozy nest and face the world. He’s going to discover the new. This little bird reminds me of myself. When I was a little girl, even now, I feel afraid, at times I feel as though I am not ready. I too will fall as I try to take flight. But like my husband and I cheering for the bird, I know that God is beside me, beside us saying, You can do that! You can do hard things! I’m with you! And in faith, I do the moves by His guide, cause I know that Who’s with me Does the impossible. We are not late, we are not old, we are not what people say about us, we are what God says about us and we are at the right time. Like the birds, four of them took flight immediately, but the one that you watch in the video, he had to face his fear, he took his time, and at the right time he flew. And what I noticed was, the four who first flew were beautiful for sure, they were really brave! But that last bird, his flight, for some reason was POWERFUL. His flight brought me a message. His flight brought me a powerful message.
